PERSONALITY OF THE WEEK

Ayobamidele Abayomi Momodu popularly known as Dele Momodu was born May 16,1960. He is a journalist, publisher, author, philanthropist and entrepreneur. He is the CEO and publisher of one of Africa’s biggest magazines, Ovation International. He is also the CEO of Ovation TV and an online newspaper, The Boss.

Momodu’s interest also cuts across politics. He was the Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2011 Presidential polls. Young Dele lost his father at the age of 13.He is a graduate of University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

He holds a degree in Yoruba as well as a Master’s degree in English Literature. He lectured briefly at the Oyo State College of Arts and Science, Ile-Ife as a corps member. He was awarded with an honorary doctorate degree(PhD) from the University of Professional Studies, Accra.

He started Ovation International in 1996.Annually, he holds an event known as Ovation Carol and Awards which started since 2008.He got married on December 19,1992 to Mobolaji Momodu and they are blessed with four children. Sophie Momodu, Davido’s baby mama is his cousin. He is a recipient of several awards.
