Lagos theatre declared open by President Buhari for public use


Today, April 24, 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari  declared the new 500-seater Lagos theatre in Lagos state open  for public use.

According to report, the theatre one of the five that was built by the state government in line with the aim of using arts, entertainment and culture to enhance the economy of the state.

The president arrived the venue at 11:30 a.m, he then took his leave after the inauguration was treated.

According to Gov.Akinwunmi Ambode, the construction of such theatres in Badagry, Igando and Epe was meant to utilize the potential in the sector and also create job opportunities for youths in the state.

Steve Ayorinde, the Commissioner for Tourism, Culture and Arts said some of the ways the state can boost economic activities and improve domestic tourism were through regeneration of old and creation of iconic attractions for arts, cultures and entertainment and  infrastructural development.
